Whiplash is on of the most satisfying movie I have ever watched. It's plot is different from most of the movies and it is based on the music.

The story of movie starts with a teenager Andrew Neiman (Miles Teller) who aspire to become a great drummer. Andrew took admission in prestigious Shaffer Conservatory in first year as an alternate to core drummer Carl Tanner.

Head teacher of conservatory, Terence Fletcher (J.K. Simmons) chose him to practice 'Whiplash' song's beat. (J.K. Simmons also played the role of angry newspaper editor in one of the famous movie 'Spiderman' who we used to watch in our childhood days (Do you remember him? Comment below)). This is one of the best part of the movie. Andrew struggles to perform in tempo as required by Fletcher. Fletcher's fist closing action to stop the music was really impressive. Fletcher slapped Andrew and threw a chair on him on playing not in tempo which resulted Andrew's crying in front of the whole ensemble. Thus, Andrew discovered strict, ruthless side of Fletcher.

Andrew misplaces Tanner's music sheet thus Tanner refused to play without it in the competition but Andrew claimed that he can play 'Whiplash' from his memory. His astonishing performance led him to core drummer of the band. His happiness was for just a moment. Fletcher recruited Ryan Connoly, the core drummer from lower level but Andrew thought that he is less talented. Andrew practiced with might and main to impress Fletcher to retain his position as core drummer. He succeeded in doing so. He also broke up with Nicole as their relationship might distract him in his journey of becoming a great drummer. This shows his passion and determination towards his dream.

In the next competition, Andrew forgot to bring his drumsticks. On the way bringing back the drumsticks in required time, he met with an accident but he somehow went to stage covered in blood and started playing drums but he failed to do so because of his injuries due to accident. Fletcher dislmissed Andrew. Thus, Andrew bursted on Fletcher out of his frustation.

Andrew was dismissed from the conservatory for his action but he testified secretly against Fletcher about his torture on his students. As a result, Fletcher was fired from conservatory. Andrew gave up on his dream and lost all his
hope.

Later, they met in a jazz club and Fletcher invited him to join his band at the JVC Jazz Festival as a drummer on which he agreed. Andrew invited Nicole to see his performance at jazz festival which she refused as she had another boyfriend. He lost his love due to his passion.

At JVC Jazz festival, before begining the song Fletcher revealed that he knew that Andrew testified him and he changed the song that Andrew did not knew as a revenge. Andrew was humiliated and walked to the backstage.

And here comes the most satisfying part of the movie. Andrew went back to stage and started playing song 'Caravan' leading the whole band. Finally, his hard work paid off. Fletcher got impressed by his endeavor and he supported him. The song ended and but Andrew continued to play the song. That night, he gave best performance the world could ever see. Slowing down the beat and then start rising it again literally gave me goosebumps. Charisma was flowing in the air due to his performance and the movie ended.
